Troynovant

Troynovant
Name given to an ancient London by Geoffrey of Monmouth. He claimed that Trinovantum actually meant Troia nova, or New Troy. This ties in with the legend of Britain being founded by *Brutus, the great-grandson of Aeneas, after the fall of Troy. -
Cf. Brutus
